Department chairs are required to navigate the complex dynamics between administration and faculty. They are responsible for department operations, as well as the mission and culture of their academic college. Archer Library, CITE, and LearnAU, are dedicated to supporting university faculty and administration, as well as their research, teaching and learning needs.
Archer Library has partnered with the Center for Innovation & Teaching Excellence (CITE) and LearnAU to provide a comprehensive collection of information and resources for Ashland University Department Chairs.
Here you will find an overview of Archer Library resources including books, eBooks, articles and journals, as well as quick links and contact information for assistance. A variety of topics are presented: academic leadership, faculty development, conflict management, administration and governance, promotion and tenure, assessment, and general advice for department chairs.
We are also excited to share the VR/XR Conference Room Learning Project. Located on the main floor of Archer Library, this area aims to provide Ashland University faculty and students a flexible learning space in which to try out VR-based simulations using Microsoft HoloLens. LearnAU has begun scheduling introductory sessions for using this technology.
Links to CITE and LearnAU provide quick access to their extensive AU Portal sites (login required). Stay tuned for additional resources from both departments coming soon.
Explore this site using the tabs at the top of the page; work from left to right, or choose a topic that is of interest to you. When viewing databases, eBook collections, eBooks, journals, and articles from off-campus, authentication is required. Login using your AU credentials (username & password) for access.
The Library Resources tab provides quick links and contact information for Archer Library Departments, faculty, and staff. During scheduled library hours of operation, use the Ask a Librarian chat widget on this page for general information inquiries. Contact information for CITE and LearnAU is provided on their portal pages.
