Overview of Special Collections at Ashland University including Special Books and Archives

Exhibits and Displays

Since 2019 the Curator has been working to create displays for library visitors. They are created from the Collections that are on campus and tie into what is happening at the library. So far they have utilized the AU Library and Special Books collections to showcase on topics from different individual books to the Library itself. 

These displays are located on the Main Floor of the Ashland University Library, and over in Upper Convo. Keep an eye out for the next one!

October 2020 to November 2020

The display offered information on the US Presidents and the written word during the Election Season. Also links to the many Presidential works in the General Collection and Special Collections.

Library Snapshot Display in Upper Convo

Installed July 2020

This display is in the Upper Convo building. It focuses on the AU Library history. Through photos and books it gives an impression of why libraries are important, and the Library's impact on AU.

This display gave background on Hans Christian Andersen as well as his work: The Snow Queen. 

Christmas Carol Display

November 2019 - December 2019

Display of from the Dickens section of the AU Library Special Collections showcasing the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - its history and some fun facts. On top were pulled copies from the General Collection to be checked out.
