Reviewing Search Results


A-Z List EBSCO database links direct users to advanced search.

1. Advanced searches use a Guided-Style Find search box, they assist users in creating a more targeted search.

2. Filters can be set prior to conducting the search. The most common selections are limiting results to full text and peer reviewed and selecting a publication date or range.

3. Choose a citation search field from the drop down list - or use the All Fields default option.

Explore the Advance Search results screen.

1. Quick Filters: Refine a search without navigating away from results, this includes resources that have been peer-reviewed.

2. Select the filter button to view and manage additional filter options.

New! 🔒 Click the lock icon, also called a sticky filter, to keep selected filters between searches in place.

3. Search results include a peer review icon as well as journal type. Access options are easily viewed and article Export icons of save, cite, share or download are provided.

Natural Language Search

What  is Natural Language Search?

Natural Language Search (NLS) simplifies user interactions and continually evolves to provide more contextually accurate results powered by AI.

Users can perform traditional keyword searches or try natural language queries using everyday speech in question or statement form.

NLS is turned off by default.  Users can engage with this function by sliding the toggle on when using either advanced search or basic search.

Reviewing Search Results

1. Natural Language Search is turned on. It is possible to set quick filters with NLS.

2. When using NLS mode, the user will have an option to Show refined query, which will display the Boolean transformation of their conversational query.

Copy and paste the Boolean search string in advanced search.

3. Search results display; peer review icon and journal type are provided. Access options remain.
