Welcome MFA students!
Based on suggestions from the MFA administrators, this library guide was created for the Ashland University MFA program. Even though you are in a low-residency program, you are entitled to year-around, 24/7 library privileges. We hope you'll take advantage of our many resources and services.
As an Ashland MFA student, you have access to thousands of electronic books, journals, digital films, and research databases to which we subscribe. In the event that an article is not available electronically, we will mail you articles free of charge through interlibrary loan. In addition, AU students residing in Ohio, or close to the Ohio border, may order books from the comprehensive OhioLINK catalog and request that they be delivered to any of the 90 OhioLINK libraries.
Use this guide as a starting point for locating information and for researching literary topics. Please use the tabs above to find quality resources. If you need more assistance, please don't hesitate to contact a librarian. We're always happy to help!
The bound copies of the MFA Theses are on the second floor of the library in the area labeled Rowe Theses and Dissertations. The copies are bound in green and organized first by year of graduation, and then by the author's last name. You can search for them in the AU catalog by doing a keyword search for m.f.a. (don't forget the periods). Here is an example of a catalog record for an MFA thesis: Bloomington Avenue / by Jen Kindbom
Ashland University Library also participates in the OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center (ETD). The ETD is a free, online database of copyright-protected graduate theses and dissertations from students at participating Ohio college and universities. Please contact us if you would like to consider this option for your thesis.
