Welcome to our Wikipedia edit-a-thon site! Archer Library and LearnAU are celebrating Women's History month by participating in the Ohio Women on Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, sponsored by the Ohio Center for the Book and the State Library of Ohio.
We will be presenting a series of three workshops March 29th through March 31st held in Archer Library's active learning lab, and available on Zoom. You are encouraged to bring a laptop or mobile device, these will be working sessions.
Interested in learning more? These workshops are open to Ashland University faculty, students, and staff who are would like to explore Wikipedia, learn to edit pages, and incorporate research and citation information.
Sign up! Attendees will register for a personal Wikipedia account. We will explore Wikipedia sandbox pages provided for every account and use the visual editor to enter text, format links, create citations, and upload images (time permitting).
Focus for this session will be notable women Alumni of Ashland University. Attendees will crowdsource information about selected alumni in order to edit the alumni section of Ashland University's Wikipedia page and pages attributed to university alumni. Research strategies and citation help will be covered.
Pulling it all together ... it's time to edit! During this session, we will use the crowdsourced research to edit and update selected Wikipedia pages.
