Borrowing from AU Library

Visit the Circulation Desk

The Circulation Desk, or Check Out Desk, is where you will go to borrow books, CDs, DVDs and even headphones, to pick up books ordered from OhioLINK, and to access materials that your professors may have put on reserve. Staff and student workers can help you with any questions or problems regarding library reserves, book borrowing, fines, due dates, renewals and OhioLINK books.

Borrowing from AU Library

AU Library books may be borrowed for 21 days and renewed 6 times. The overdue fine is 25 cents per day.

OhioLINK books may be borrowed for 21 days and may be renewed 6 times. OhioLINK Fines are 50 cents per day, $50 for books that are 30 days overdue, and OhioLINK charges $125 for items that are not returned.

Reserves & E-Reserves

Your instructors may have placed books or audio materials on reserve for your class. Visit the Circulation Desk to check out items on Reserve.

Note: Borrowing periods vary for Reserve and non-book items.

Textbooks

Ashland University Library does not have copies of most textbooks. Most students buy or rent their own textbooks. A limited number of textbooks may be borrowed through OhioLINK.

We do have some books that are used in classes such as literature, poetry, or history (novels and other widely read books).
