Dr. Jennifer L. Dougall, Ph.D., PCC,
Assistant Professor of Counseling, has worked in the field of mental health as a Professional Clinical Counselor and as an Educator throughout her life. Most recently she had served as the Director for the Center for Student Wellness and Counseling Services at Northeast Ohio Medical University for six years. During her time at Northeast Ohio Medical University the counseling department grew to a five person team supporting medical professional students through counseling, psychiatric services, and wellness programming centered around student mental and emotional health. In addition to her clinical practice, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings including counselor graduate education at the University of Akron and medical professional programming at NEOMED. She is passionate about “championing the underdog” and a witness to “with God all things are possible”. She has special interests in removing barriers for underserved populations seeking mental health care. Her published research focused on the intersection of socioeconomic class and biases in mental health providers.
