Dissertation Digital Publication Process
Dissertation Digital Publication Process
- Once your dissertation has been successfully defended and approved for publication, Dr. Van Nest will send you an email containing a link to a Permission Form that will provide information and permission to the User Services Librarian to prepare and then upload your work to both OhioLINK’s Electronic Theses and Dissertation Center and ProQuest UMI.
- After you submit the form, the library is notified that your dissertation is ready for processing. The User Services Librarian will carefully examine your submission to ensure it meets all formatting requirements and includes the necessary components for publication in both databases. If any corrections are needed, you’ll receive your document back with detailed notes. Otherwise, once approved, your dissertation will be forwarded to OhioLINK ETD for immediate digital publication and queued for upload to ProQuest, making it accessible worldwide. ProQuest uploads occur on the 1st and 15th of each month, with processing typically taking 6–8 weeks.
- Finally, once the OhioLINK upload is confirmed, the User Services Librarian will notify you via email. At that point, Dr. Van Nest will inform the Registrar that you’ve fulfilled all requirements and are officially cleared for graduation.
