Opposing Viewpoints is a cross-curricular database covering social issues and current events. It provides balanced views and information for users to "explore all sides of an issue" (Gale, 2022) and draw their own conclusions.
There are three 3 key areas on the Gale in Context: Opposing Viewpoints home page: (1) Basic and advanced search, (2) Issues of Interest, and (3) browsing available issues.

This initial search for Echo Chambers Media includes content types including: academic journals (7), viewpoints (1), videos (1), audio (1), news (108), and magazines (10).
Manage search results by using one of the filter options including publication date, subject, document type, publication title, newspaper section (where available), and content level. It is also possible to limit to full text documents, peer reviewed documents, and leveled documents.

Topic Finder: Visualize search results using this interactive tool
This tool takes the titles, subjects, and approximately the first 100 words from a subset of your top results and feeds them into an algorithm. Keywords shown in the graphics are those found most often in the text with your search term.
The topic for “Illinois” might bring up expected connections from the text like “Chicago,” along with unexpected but commonly related terms like “water,” “steel,” and the names of people who appear frequently in documents about Illinois (Opposing Viewpoints, Topic Finder).
