Library Services Platform Migration

Information for Instructors

During the migration to the new platform, the URLs and links to library resources will change. Links for library resources used in Blackboard and syllabi for course materials will need to be updated.

What Links Need to be Changed?

  • Any links to books in the old library catalog (library.ashland.edu) will need to be changed

  • Any links to materials in the old OhioLINK/SearchOhio catalog (https://olc1.ohiolink.edu/) will need to be changed

  • Links to materials in the EBSCO databases DO NOT need to be changed

When Do the Links Need Changed?

Summer 2025 Courses

  • Summer courses should continue to use their current permalinks for the summer term.

  • Current permalinks will stop working on August 31, 2025.

Fall 2025 Courses

  • The new Primo VE permalinks will be available June 18, 2025.

  • Fall courses will need to use the new Primo VE permalinks, as the old permalinks will not work after August 31.

How Do I Change My Links?

The new permalinks in Primo VE will be available on June 18, 2025, when the catalog goes live. Further instructions will be forthcoming about how to find your materials in the new catalog to change these links.

We understand the timing is challenging for instructors needing to update links for their fall classes. We will communicate as soon as possible with instructions and guidance on these updates.
