Biological Science Databases-General

Academic Search Complete (EBSCO)
Comprehensive multi-disciplinary database with full-text coverage of over 8,800 periodicals, including more than 7,700 peer-reviewed journals.
ACS (American Chemical Society) Journals
Provides access to 50 ACS journals, with more than 30,000 new articles added every year. The archived backfile (1879-1995) supplements more recent content with its nearly half a million articles.
Annual Reviews
Annual Reviews provide systematic, periodic examinations of scholarly advances in a number of fields of science and social science through critical authoritative reviews. AU's subscriptions generally cover 1996 to 2009.
BIOSIS Citation Index
Part of Web of Science. BIOSIS Citation Index is the leading abstracting and indexing reference publication for life sciences information. Provides informative abstracts, in English, of current research reported in the biological and medical literature.
PubMed
PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 16 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s.
PubMed Central
PubMed Central is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.
Science Citation Index Expanded (ISI)
Science Citation Index Expanded (ISI) provides access to bibliographic information and cited references from more than 6,500 of the world's leading scientific research journals. A component of the Web of Science database platform.

Botany Databases

Agricola
Agricola is compiled by the U.S. National Agricultural Library (NAL). The records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines including plant and animal sciences, forestry, entomology, soil and water.
Garden, Landscape and Horticulture Index
Garden, Landscape and Horticulture Index is the premier resource for access to articles about gardens and plants. Topics include horticulture, botany, garden and landscape design & history, ecology, plant and garden conservation, garden management, etc.

Life Science Databases

Entrez
Entrez, the Life Sciences Search Engine is a cross-database search engine that includes PubMed (MEDLINE), PubMed Central, Human Genome, GenBank, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) and other NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information)

Environmental Databases

Environment Complete
Contains full text for 1,000 journals, including many of the most used journals in the discipline, such as Environment (back to 1975), Ecologist, Conservation Biology, etc. Environment Complete also provides full text for a variety of books, encyclopedias, and reports.
GreenFILE
Indexes scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports. This resource offers a unique perspective on the positive and negative ways humans affect the environment.

Electronic Journal Center (OhioLINK)
OhioLINK's collection of more than 10,000 academic journals.
JSTOR
JSTOR provides complete electronic backfiles of core journals in a variety of subjects. Full text coverage begins with the first issue of each journal and usually ends about five years before the present.
Web of Science (ISI)
ISI Citation Databases are multidisciplinary databases of bibliographic information gathered from thousands of scholarly journals.
