CMHC: Introduction to Research

A walkthrough of getting started with library research for the CMHC program at ATS.

Using OneSearch + Interlibrary Loan

Using OneSearch + Interlibrary Loan: While there are many resources available with Full Text access, there are even more articles available using OneSearch and Interlibrary Loan.

OneSearch searches all resources available to you as a student, whether it is Full Text or not. Like the other EBSCO databases you have used, use the filtering options on the left side of the screen to narrow your results.

While Full Text resources are still included in OneSearch, you will notice results listed with an "Order from Interlibrary Loan" button attached to them. If you click on that link, you will be taken to a form to fill out a request for Interlibrary Loan. We will then work with other libraries to try to obtain a copy of the article for you. If you are requesting a physical book on loan from another library, you need to be able to pick up and return it from the Ashland Seminary Library.

We will process your request quickly as possible, but it could take up to 2 weeks to get results back to us. Additionally, for articles related to the sciences (including counseling and psychiatry), some institutions charge for copies. We do our best to request items from charge-free libraries. If this is not possible, we will contact you about the potential charges for your request before processing the request.
